The quantity (number + counter) goes straight before the verb.
例
I bought four apples.
いくつ for 〜つ items, なん+counter for things with a counter, どのくらい for length of time.

How many mandarins did you buy? [I bought] eight.
ぐらい after a quantity = "about".

There are about thirty teachers at our school.
Frequency: "… times per (period)".

だけ after a quantity or noun = "only" (nothing more).
