Say what you can do with V[dictionary form]こと が できます, describe interests with 趣味は…こと です, sequence with 〜まえに, and use なかなか and ぜひ.

Express ability or possibility — the object takes が; a verb is nominalised with こと.
例
Mr. Miller can read kanji.
Describe an interest; a verb + こと gives more detail than a noun alone.

I like listening to music.
Do V2 before V1: V1 stays dictionary form whatever the tense; の after a noun; nothing after a time period.

I read a book before going to bed.
なかなか + a negative = "not easily / not as expected".
