文型Grammar patterns5 points
Conditional "if": attach ら to the plain past form. The main clause can be a wish, request, invitation, etc.
例
If I had money, I'd go travelling.
"When / after / once": the main action happens on completion of the ら-clause action.
例
I take a shower as soon as I get home.
"Even if" — a contrasting condition (V〜ても, V〜なくても, い〜くても, な〜でも, N〜でも).
例
I'll do the laundry even if it rains.
もし signals up front that the clause is conditional (paired with 〜たら).
例
If I had a hundred million yen, I'd travel round the world.
The subject of a subordinate clause (〜たら/〜ても/〜とき/〜まえに…) is marked by が.
例
What will you do if your friends don't arrive on time?
